At 3:38 to 3:54, Daniel Pipes lies straight-faced to the camera. He says he has yet to see an example of a "clandestine effort" by "secret societies" to "gain power" or to "fulfill their own ambitions." First of all the guy was (and is) a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and the producers of the film should have warned everyone of his conflict of interest. (I have membership lists dating back to 1922 of the CFR; Pipes starts appearing on the yearly lists in 1980.) Second, the book he wrote in 1997, Conspiracy: How the Paranoid Style Flourishes and Where it Comes From (cited by the film), already admits that the Bavarian Illuminati are the prototype and clearest example of just such a secret society intent on gaining control. Quote: "...the Illuminati broke new ground by using systematic infiltration and subterfuge to attain political goals" (p. 64); "The Illuminati ... the one verified example of a secret society working with subversive purposes" (p. 65).

Amen and amen. I've seen his disinformation before. Good quotes, Terry.
